The band enjoys playing out and have an extensive list of engagements including local village fêtes, weddings, concerts, church and school events. Our presence at an event adds enjoyment of music, the colour of our uniforms and a feeling of British tradition.
A typical event involves the band playing a fanfare to open the event followed by two 45 minute sets with a break for tea in between sets. All our players are volunteers but we charge a modest fee to cover band expenses and do ask for simple refreshments in the break.
Our standard performance fee is £200-250, depending on the length of performance required. Fees earned throughout the year enable the band to buy and service instruments and gradually expand our collection of music. We can supply our own gazebo (6m x 3m or 8m x 4m) for outdoor events and do not normally require power as we run on wind!
