Apart from Blewbury Brass Band, highlights of the fete include a dog show, delicious jams and chutneys, and tea with an extraordinary variety of cake!
For the first time in two years the sun shone for the Blewbury Brass Band at Didcot Hospital Fete. We treated audiences to some of our favourite tunes from this year’s summer programme which included ‘I’m gonna be (500 miles)’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. Lewis, our principal cornet, played the solo ‘Just the way you are’, and Bruce treated passers-by to ‘Solitaire’.
We would to thank the organisers for arranging some fantastic tea and cake. We hope you raised lots of money to support the excellent work of the hospital, and look forward to seeing you again next year.
Blewbury Brass Band are delighted to be playing at the Didcot Hospital Fete on Monday 29th August 2015.

The Blewbury Brass Band will be playing at the Uptonogood event, in Upton on Saturday 18th June, sending cyclists off on their charity sponsored ride, and welcoming them back, with dulcet tones!
Blewbury Brass Band celebrated the Queens Birthday in style today! The band joined members of Blewbury Village to help kick-off a day of fun activities in Tickers Folly. We played a number of favourites including ‘The Floral Dance’ and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’; and even managed to keep the grey clouds away (for a little while) with ‘Singing in the Rain’.
We were treated to tea in our break time and some members of the band even enjoyed a pork roll. Thank you to everyone who came along to listen, we hope you enjoyed your afternoon!
Blewbury Learner Band entertained fete-goers in sunny North Moreton this afternoon. We played a number of fun pieces that cheered the visitors and provided a fitting backing for the tea tent, the dog show, and the coconut shy- to name but a few stalls!
Congratulations to William, our cornet player, who played his first solo with the band. Thank you to the organisers for inviting us along, we had a lovely afternoon and hope you see you again next year.
Come and listen to our Learner Band who will be performing next Sunday 8th May at North Moreton Church Fete. The band will be playing a variety of music adding colour to the afternoon. The pictures below show the Learner Band at our recent St George’s Day Concert, at the ODBBA Festival, and at the Cornerstone in Didcot where we played a successful performance to shoppers and theatre goers.
The band opened its busy summer programme with a lively selection at Brightwalton Fete. On a blustery day, we were lucky that the rain stayed away and many people came to watch. William, who was playing in the football tournament, was enlisted to make his debut in the main band and played the entire second half. Well done, William!
Thank you to the organisers who supplied the band with tea and cake in our break and for making us very welcome. We hope you enjoyed the afternoon.
