0 bbb Learner Band play at the Northbourne Centre, Didcot
The Blewbury Learner Band will be giving a concert this afternoon in the shady garden of the Northbourne Centre, High Street, Didcot.
The band will be playing as part of a series of summer brass band concerts for local folk.

Blewbury and District Brass Band is giving a Spring Concert.
The concert will feature both the main and learner brass bands. The event will be held at Blewbury Village Hall on Saturday 25th April 2014 at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £5 (£1 children) and are available on the door. Doors open at 7.00pm, there will be a licenced bar, and interval refreshments will be served.
Musical Director, Ian Barlow, said, ‘After a successful year playing two major concert and numerous other smaller performances, Blewbury Brass Band is proud to present our second Spring Concert. This year we will feature a bigger band, more amazing pieces and a spectacular show that will be a feast for the eyes and ears. We will be performing a selection of show tunes, traditional band favourites and pop hits. It will be a great concert for the whole family to enjoy’.
0 Beginner and Learner Band Spring Concert
The Blewbury Beginner Band, Blewbury Learner band and Year 5 children from Blewbury Primary School entertained a packed Melland Room (beside our band hut and the Blewbury cricket field) on Wednesday 25th March with a fantastic Spring Concert.
The Blewbury Band youngsters put together a programme featuring lots of new and exciting music including Ghostbusters, Mission Impossible and Soul Bossa Nova. The bands also showed their versatility by playing two classical pieces, Largo from Dvorak’s New World Symphony, and Hall of the Mountain King as well as the hymn tune Angelus. Samuel played a lovely cornet solo with the band in Shenandoah and Ben played Men of Harlech on trombone.
We were also delighted to be joined by a group of new beginners from Blewbury Primary School. The children, who have been having lessons with Main Band MD Ian Barlow, demonstrated some exercises they have been doing in lessons and performed Acapulco Bay. We hope to see some of them coming along to our Beginner Band in the next few months.

0 bbb Learner Band having fun at Waitrose Wallingford!
Enormous fun was had by all – we had a strong Learner band turn out and it was the first time we’ve ever received a spontaneous round of applause in a supermarket!
0 Blewbury Village Christmas Concert
The Blewbury Brass Band will be taking part in the Blewbury Village Christmas Concert on Wednesday 17 December at 7.30 PM, in the Blewbury Church.
Rumour has it that the band will turn out a record number of players, and that there will be a percussionist playing for the first time for many years.
The church is packed full every year and, for many, this event signals the start of Christmas celebrations. Truly a most enjoyable evening of carols, readings, song and music.

The bbb Starter Band and Learner Band will be giving a concert on Wednesday 10 December at 6.30, in the Melland Room, in the sports pavilion beside the band hut (just off Bohams Road, Blewbury).
Conducted by Judith Atkins, and with enthusiastic young and adult players, both bands have developed in a marvellous way over the last year.

The Blewbury Brass Band Christmas Concert will be on Saturday 6 December at 7.30 PM in the Blewbury Village Hall. Doors and Licensed Bar will open at 7.00 PM.
Featuring Blewbury Brass Band, and our impressive Learner Band, there will be a wide range of seasonal music, plus marches, shows, solos and much more! A fun evening for all ages.
