0 Support the band…at no cost to yourself!
HUGE thanks to whoever it was who made an online purchase from Marks & Spencer which resulted in a 95p donation (1.5% of the purchase) enabling www.easyfundraising.org.uk to support the band. A total of £14.87 has now been raised for the band, which will go toward buying a cornet for a learner player.
If you haven’t yet registered to support Blewbury Brass Band at www.easyfundraising.org.uk… just visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/blewburybrass and install the “Donation Reminder” toolbar. The band will then receive a percentage (typically 1% – 2%) of whatever you spend…at no cost to yourself. More than 2000 online retailers have agreed to support the band in this way through www.easyfundraising.org.uk, including M&S, Amazon, ebay, Waitrose, John Lewis, Boden, Toys R Us, Tesco, Sainsburys, Argos. As Christmas approaches, and with a large number of online purchases about to be made, this is a “Win Win” proposition.
Thank you for your support.

0 bbb nominated for a Business and Community Award
We are delighted to announce that the Blewbury Brass Band was nominated for a Business and Community Award (BACAs), organised by Didcot First.
While we did not win an award on this occasion, it’s wonderful to have been nominated for our activity focused on getting local children and young people to start playing a brass instrument.
Didcot First is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes Didcot as a positive place to live, work and invest. The Business & Community Awards is their largest event that celebrates all the good practice and community spirit in our local area.
Our plan is to continue doing “more of the same” so fingers are crossed for next year!!
0 Blewbury Players make £1000 donation
We are delighted to announce that the Blewbury Players (see www.blewburyplayers.co.uk) have spontaneously made a £1000 donation to the band, to enable us to buy 4 cornets for use by the proposed brass group at the Blewbury Primary School.
We are bowled over by this generosity, and these instruments will be used over many years to launch several local children into a lifetime of playing music.
We now have 8 cornets available, and our target for the Blewbury School brass group is 20-30. If you would like to make a donation to the band (eg to buy one cornet @ a cost of £250 each), please contact Martin Holliss, our treasurer (treasurer@blewburybrassband.org.uk / 07931 376501).
0 Something for nothing!!!

0 Didcot Rotary Club with bbb Learner Band
0 Didcot Rotary Club generously gives bbb 2 new cornets
Huge thanks to the Didcot Rotary Club for supporting the Blewbury Learner Band.
As this photo shows, Colin Campbell came to the Learner Band and Starter Band rehearsal on Wednesday 1 October 2014 to present 2 new cornets.
These new instruments will be well used, over (we expect) at least the next 30 or 40 years, to encourage local young people to play music in a friendly ensemble – the start of a lifetime of musical enjoyment!
