The band will be playing carols at the Hagbourne Primary School Christmas Fair on Sunday 25 November from 1100-1530. We will also be manning a “Have a Blow” table for anybody who would like to try one of our brass instruments, whether small (like a cornet) or large (like a tuba)!
We are delighted to announce that the Co-operative Group Community Fund has decided to award the band the sum of £2000, towards instruments and music for our Learner Band.
This is a hugely generous donation that will enable us to be even more active and generous towards the growing number of learners joining and playing with Blewbury Brass Band.
We encourage you to visit http://www.co-operative.coop/membership/local-communities/ to find out more about the Co-operative Group’s support of local communities. We would also encourage you to shop at their food shops in Didcot, Ladygrove, Steventon, Wantage, Abingdon, Berinsfield, Dorchester and Benson!
The band will be playing carols and other “Christmasy music” at the Chilton Garden Centre Christmas Fayre on Sunday 18 November, from 1130-1430.
Members of our Learner Band (some who go to Chilton School) will be playing with the band.
The Band played both at the Remembrance Service in St Michael’s Church, Blewbury, and then later at the Blewbury War Memorial. Andrew Slater played the Last Post and Reveille.
